## Synopsis

Offworld (2022) is a Spanish science fiction drama miniseries created by Fran Araújo, Isa Campo, Rafael Cobos, Isaki Lacuesta, Alberto Marini and Isabel Peña, broadcast on Movistar Plus. A solar storm knocks out electricity, telecommunications and transport across the planet, and the five-episode limited series follows several characters, among them Ernesto (Luis Callejo) and Cortelazor (Jesús Carroza), as each struggles to adapt to a world where ordinary routines have vanished. Rather than a single heroic quest, the engine is the daily grind of finding food, shelter and safety while confronting fear, mistrust and the instincts people fall back on when society stops functioning. Each episode concentrates on a different thread, so the blackout spreads outward through interlocking vignettes that gradually reveal how the crisis touches very different lives. The tone is tense, bleak and contemplative, with an atmosphere of unease that builds steadily as communities fracture. Its shape is that of a compact standalone story rather than a long-running saga. Fans of The Leftovers, Station Eleven and Black Mirror will find resonance in its grounded apocalyptic dread and its focus on ordinary people under extraordinary pressure.
