## Synopsis

Lust (2022) is a Swedish comedy series created by Frans Milisic Wiklund and streaming on HBO Max, a single-season run of eight thirty-minute episodes that was later canceled. Sofia Helin plays Anette, a researcher whose nationwide study suggests that sex is the highway to health, and the series follows her and her three lifelong friends as they test that claim against their own lives. Anja Lundqvist plays Nadia, Julia Dufvenius plays Ellen, and Elin Klinga plays Martina, each navigating the pull of careers, children, partners and everyday responsibilities that keep their bedrooms quiet. The engine is simple and funny: every episode puts a concrete obstacle between a woman and the intimacy she wants, from a tired marriage to a busy workweek, and the friends talk it through with candid, unembarrassed humor. The tone is frank, warm and breezy, with an adult comedic sensibility that treats desire as ordinary and worth defending. Fans of Sex and the City and Girls will find resonance in its female friend group, its sharp talk about sex, and its midlife perspective on modern Swedish life. Its one season and its uneven audience reception give it the feel of a sharp, short experiment rather than a long-running saga.
