## Synopsis

Rap Sh!t (2022-2023) is an American comedy series created by Issa Rae for HBO Max. Two estranged high school friends from Miami, Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), reunite to form a rap duo and push their way into a music scene that rarely makes room for them. Their engine is ambition colliding with messy personal history: they want a real break, but old resentments, bad decisions, and money trouble keep getting in the way. Each episode follows a run of gigs, hustles, and fallouts with their circle of friends, including Chastity (Jonica Booth), Cliff (Devon Terrell), and Lamont (RJ Cyler). The show runs for two seasons and sixteen half-hour episodes, a serialized comedy in which the friendship arc carries the story forward. Set in present-day Miami, its texture is sun-soaked, loud, and sharply observed, with hip-hop culture running through every scene. Its humor is frank and unfiltered, balancing raucous laughs with warm, bruised emotion about loyalty and reinvention. Fans of Insecure, Atlanta, and Empire will find resonance in its blend of urban comedy, music world ambition, and female friendship.
