## Synopsis

The Great Indian Murder (2022) is a Hindi-language Indian crime mystery series created by Tigmanshu Dhulia and released on Disney+ Hotstar, with MBC Bollywood and MBC Shahid also listed as networks. A nine-episode limited series set in present-day Chhattisgarh, it follows Vikrant aka Vicky Rai, a womanizing industrialist, who is shot dead at a party celebrating his acquittal in the rape and murder of two young girls. Officers Suraj Yadav (Pratik Gandhi) and Sudha Bharadwaj (Richa Chadha) are the investigators pushing through a crowded field of suspects, while the victim's father, Home Minister Jagannath Rai (Ashutosh Rana), demands a CBI inquiry and pressures the case from above. Each episode peels back another layer of alibis, bribes and hidden loyalties, making it a tense, politically charged whodunit. The tone is grim and claustrophobic, with corruption and class privilege hanging over every interrogation. Fans of Sacred Games, Delhi Crime and True Detective will find resonance in its procedural grit and its portrait of power protecting its own.
