## Synopsis

Juanpis González - The Series (2022) is a Colombian comedy-drama series produced for Netflix, a single-season run of ten roughly 24-minute episodes. Its protagonist, the snobbish Juan Pablo González Pombo (Alejandro Riaño), is determined to pass a test that will secure him the family business, and his plans keep colliding with dirty politics and the messy pull of true love. Camila Benavides (Carolina Gaitán) and the scheming, eccentric Libardo Sneider Bucaramanga, known as Ivancito (Julián Caicedo), complicate his path with romance and rivalry. The engine of the story is the gap between his inflated sense of entitlement and the scrapes he falls into, with each episode built around a fresh political entanglement and a new humiliation for the heir. Set in present-day Colombia with a beach vacation backdrop, the series plays out as a lightly irreverent satire with a telenovela sensibility, its tone breezy, cheeky and sharp about class. Fans of Jane the Virgin, Veep and Narcos will find some kinship in its mix of romance, power games and comic excess, though it keeps its own irreverent Latin American voice throughout.
