## Synopsis

Munich Games (2022) is a German-language drama thriller series created by Michal Aviram and broadcast on Sky One. Set in present-day Munich, fifty years after the 1972 Munich Massacre, the six-episode story follows a soccer game between an Israeli and a German club that begins to fall apart. Maria Köhler (Seyneb Saleh) and Oren Simon (Yousef Sweid) sit at the center of the tension, joined by Michael Hahn (Sebastian Rudolph), Jackie Igelski (Doval'e Glickman) and Monir Aziz (Roger Azar), whose lives collide as security concerns mount around the stadium. Each episode builds pressure through shifting alliances, political suspicion and the sense that the city's wounded history is quietly resurfacing. The engine is a race to prevent a catastrophe that mirrors a past atrocity, with the drama unfolding in tightly wound, character-driven scenes rather than action spectacle. The tone is tense, sober and haunted, with an undercurrent of grief and national memory. Viewers who enjoy Fauda, Deutschland 83 or The Night Manager will find resonance in its blend of political unease, personal stakes and historical weight. A single self-contained season, it is a compact limited series.
