## Synopsis

Life & Beth (2022-2024) is an American comedy-drama series created by Amy Schumer for Hulu. Amy Schumer plays Beth, a woman whose trip down memory lane stirs up old hurts, with Yamaneika Saunders as Maya, her close companion through the stumbles of trying to reset her life. Michael Rapaport plays Leonard and Michael Cera plays John, two men whose presence keeps dragging Beth back toward the past she is trying to outrun. The engine of the series is simple and sharp: Beth wants a clean start, but every reunion, awkward dinner and reopened wound pushes her into new mistakes. Each episode is built from small domestic and social disasters that turn into candid, uncomfortable confrontations. The show runs for two seasons of ten episodes each, forming one continuing story rather than a case of the week. Its tone is raw and profane, mixing trauma with laughter and a stubborn hopefulness. Set in present day New York, it has the unpolished feel of a semi autobiographical sketch. Fans of Crashing, Insecure and Better Things will find resonance in its blend of cringe humor, honest self examination and grief tinged warmth.
