## Synopsis

Presumed Innocent (2024-present) is an American legal thriller series created by David E. Kelley for Apple TV. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Rozat 'Rusty' Sabich, a Chicago prosecutor who becomes the suspect when a horrific murder upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney's Office and one of his own colleagues is killed. Ruth Negga plays his wife Barbara, whose loyalty is tested as the investigation tightens, while Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel and Peter Sarsgaard add pressure from the office and the courtroom. Renate Reinsve and Nana Mensah round out the principal cast. The engine of the show is the accused man's struggle to keep his family intact while proving nothing he cannot prove, with every episode turning on a fresh piece of evidence, a shifting alliance, or a private secret surfacing. Told across a single eight-episode season, it moves through interrogations, hearings and tense domestic scenes with a grim, paranoid pull. Its tone is adult, suspicious and bleak, a legal thriller where doubt is the main character. Fans of The Night Of, Big Little Lies and Mare of Easttown will find resonance in its prestige crime texture and morally tangled households.
