## Synopsis

Litvinenko (2022) is a British four-episode limited series created by George Kay for ITVX. Dramatizing real events, it follows the determined Scotland Yard officers led by DSU Clive Timmons (Mark Bonnar) and DI Brent Hyatt (Neil Maskell) as they work through one of the most complex and dangerous investigations in the history of the Metropolitan Police. Margarita Levieva plays Marina Litvinenko, whose unwavering pursuit of the truth gives the story its emotional core, while Barry Sloane and Daniel Ryan fill out the investigative team. The engine of the series is the slow grind of collecting evidence across borders while diplomatic pressure, institutional caution and a shadowy foreign dimension stand in the way. Each episode is built from interviews, surveillance, forensic leads and tense meetings in gray corridors, rather than flashy action. Set in 2000s London and beyond, it carries a restrained, sombre, grounded atmosphere that is by turns tense and mournful. Fans of Chernobyl, The Investigation and The Night Manager will find resonance in its blend of real-world stakes, political intrigue and procedural patience.
