## Synopsis

Treason (2022) is a British spy thriller miniseries created by Matt Charman for Netflix. Charlie Cox plays Adam Lawrence, a rising MI6 deputy whose orderly life with his family starts to fray after an unexpected reunion with a Russian spy, Kara Yusova (Olga Kurylenko). Adam must navigate the intelligence service's hierarchy, where Sir Martin Angelis (Ciarán Hinds) and Audrey Gratz (Alex Kingston) control what he is allowed to know, while his own past becomes a liability he cannot easily explain. Oona Chaplin plays Maddy De Costa, adding a further layer of personal tension. The series is a five-episode limited series in which each hour tightens the net around its protagonist through tense meetings, secret calls and carefully hidden loyalties. Its tone is paranoid and intimate, with a cold, watchful atmosphere that rewards close attention. Its moral dilemmas concern trust, guilt and the cost of serving institutions that may not serve you. Fans of Bodyguard, Spooks and The Night Manager will find resonance in its British intelligence world, its slow-building dread and its focus on a man whose certainties dissolve under pressure.
