## Synopsis

Vilangu (2022) is a Tamil-language Indian crime mystery series created by Prashanth Pandiraj and produced for ZEE5. It follows police officer Paridhi, played by Vimal as Ilamparidhi, who is weighed down by a stressful personal situation even as he is pushed to crack a baffling murder case that has the whole police department on edge. Iniya plays Revathi, Munishkanth plays SI Uthaman, and Balasaravanan plays Karuppu, with R. N. R. Manohar as Kodilingam, each adding pressure and perspective within the investigation. The engine of the series is the slow grind of detective work: interviews, dead ends, and the protagonist's private worries bleeding into every decision he makes. Told across a single season of seven episodes, it is a self-contained limited series rather than an open-ended run, with each installment moving the case forward. The tone is tense and moody, grounded in ordinary station rooms and city streets, with a sober emotional register that keeps the focus on the human cost of the chase. Viewers who enjoy Broadchurch, The Killing, and Vikram Vedha will find a similar blend of procedural rigor, emotional weight, and atmosphere in this Tamil crime series.
