## Synopsis

Semantic Error (2022) is a South Korean miniseries created by Jeo Soo-ri for Watcha, a boys' love romance of eight short episodes of roughly 23 minutes each. Strict computer science student Chu Sang U (Park Jae-chan) and design major Jang Jae-young (Park Seo-ham) begin as bitter rivals after he removes Jang's name from a shared university project, and the friction between their clashing majors becomes the engine of the story. Their rivalry grows through the everyday pressures of campus life, group assignments, and the awkward attention of friends and classmates, with Choi Yoo-na (Song Ji-oh) and Ryu Ji-hye (Kim No-jin) adding warmth and complication around them. The series is a slow burn, built on hostility gradually softening into tenderness, unrequited feelings, and small moments of quiet longing. Its tone is wistful, tender, and sincere, with comic irritation giving way to angst. Set in a contemporary South Korean university, it sits within the tradition of Korean youth romance and boys' love storytelling, and fans of Our Beloved Summer and Love Alarm, and viewers drawn to Bad Buddy's gentle chemistry, will find a familiar yet affecting emotional rhythm here.
