## Synopsis

Renegade Nell (2024) is a British fantasy adventure series created by Sally Wainwright for Disney+. Louisa Harland stars as Nell Jackson, a young woman framed for murder who flees with her sisters and takes up highway robbery to survive in early eighteenth century England. Nick Mohammed voices and plays Billy Blind, a plucky little sprite whose superpowers become Nell's unlikely ally. Frank Dillane appears as Charles Devereux among the principal cast, and Adrian Lester plays the Earl of Poynton. The engine of the show is Nell's scramble to stay ahead of the law while she slowly realizes that fate has placed her on the wrong side of the law for a far larger purpose: thwarting a magical plot against the Queen. Each episode mixes roadside robberies, narrow escapes, and cheeky banter with a growing supernatural conspiracy. The eight-episode run is a single season that was canceled, so its story stops before the larger conflict fully resolves. The series is set in 1705 England, with rural roads, country estates, and London intrigue. Its tone is audacious, cheerful, and suspenseful, a bold period romp with a wink. Fans of Merlin, Once Upon a Time and Dick Turpin will find resonance in its blend of historical costume drama and playful magic.
