## Synopsis

Epitafios (2004-2009) is an Argentinian crime anthology series created by Adrián Suar for HBO Latin America, a two-season run of thirteen episodes each. Cecilia Roth plays Marina Segal, a psychologist drawn into the hunt for a killer, alongside Paola Krum as Laura Santini and Luis Luque as Comisario Jiménez, a homicide detective. Leonardo Sbaraglia plays the Asesino, the murderer whose methods and motives drive each case. The engine of the series is the tense cat and mouse between investigators working through forensic detail and interviews and a killer who stays one step ahead, with each story playing out in a self-contained arc. Shot in Buenos Aires but set in an unnamed South American city, it carries a neutral Spanish that gives it a detached, universal quality. Its tone is bleak, claustrophobic and unsettling, with a slow-building dread that foregrounds the psychology of violence rather than spectacle. Fans of Mindhunter, The Killing and Narcos will find resonance in its procedural rigor, moral darkness and intimate look at the minds of criminals and those who chase them.
