## Synopsis

Ice Age: Scrat Tales (2022) is an American animated family comedy spinoff of the Ice Age film franchise, created for Disney+ and produced by Blue Sky Studios. Chris Wedge voices the frantic saber-toothed squirrel Scrat, who is joined by Kari Wahlgren as the mischievous Baby Scrat. The six episodes are each about four minutes long and follow the pair as they bond and then battle over a highly prized acorn. The engine of each short is physical: Scrat's relentless pursuit of his treasure collides with a small, scheming child who keeps turning rivalry into a kind of reluctant fatherhood. The series is a single short season of wordless slapstick built on timing, sound effects and expressive animal physicality rather than dialogue. Its tone is breezy, warm and gently absurd, with a sweet undercurrent about family. It runs as a tightly self-contained package, so a single sitting is easy. Fans of Ice Age, Looney Tunes and Pingu will find resonance in its bright, pared-down comedy and its prehistoric world of constant mishap.
