## Synopsis

Soñadoras (1998-1999) is a Mexican telenovela created by Rocio Taboada, Braulio Pedraza and Emilio Larrosa, produced by Televisa and broadcast on Las Estrellas. Its cast is led by Aracely Arámbula as Jacqueline de la Peña, with Michelle Vieth as Lucía de la Macorra, Laisha Wilkins as Emilia González, and Arturo Peniche as Don José Luis Dueñas, all woven into a single extended romantic storyline. The engine of the series is the tangle of love, rivalry and family loyalty that binds its characters together, with each episode turning on secrets, misunderstandings and confrontations that push romantic pairings toward or away from one another. Told across one season of 174 episodes, it is a continuous serial rather than a set of standalone stories, so its momentum builds slowly as relationships deepen and alliances shift. The show offers a classic Latin American soap sensibility: emotionally heightened, sentimental and dramatic, with melodramatic reversals that keep viewers invested. Its contemporary late-1990s setting unfolds in Mexico, and its warm, romantic atmosphere makes it a natural pick for viewers who enjoy long, sincere love stories. Fans of Rosalinda, Mirada de mujer and Marimar will find much of the same heightened romance and family drama here.
