## Synopsis

Salomé (2001-2004) is a Mexican telenovela created by Ramón Ortiz Quiñones for Las Estrellas, produced by Televisa. Edith González plays Fernanda Quiñones, a cabaret dancer known as Salomé who works at the D'Rubí club in Mexico City alongside her friend Karicia. Her life tangles with Julio, played by Guy Ecker, the son of the millionaire Montesino family, whose sickly wife Ángela cannot have children. Julio's formidable mother Lucrecia, played by María Rubio, is obsessed with securing a grandson to inherit the family fortune and pushes Salomé into a bargain that collapses when Julio refuses to leave his wife and plans to raise the child as his own. Salomé flees with her son and two abandoned babies, and the story jumps twenty years ahead to a wealthy businesswoman raising her three children. When the Montesinos return to Mexico, they set out to uncover the truth about Salomé and Julio's son. The series is a single 150-episode run of serialized melodrama, built on class-crossing romance, betrayal, and a buried parentage secret, with a glossy, emotionally heightened tone. Fans of Rosalinda, La usurpadora and Betty la fea will find resonance in its blend of sweeping passion, wealthy family rivalry and long-delayed reckoning.
