## Synopsis

Pantanal (2022) is a Brazilian telenovela remake created by Bruno Luperi for TV Globo. Cowboy José Leôncio (Marcos Palmeira) has become a wealthy farm owner in the Pantanal wetlands after his father vanished, but he is bitter after his wife fled to Rio de Janeiro with their baby. Twenty years later he gets a chance to make amends with that son, Jove (Jesuíta Barbosa), a young man raised in the big city with values far from his own. Jesuíta Barbosa and Marcos Palmeira anchor a story built on ranch rivalries, land disputes, forbidden affections and the daily rhythms of a flood-driven landscape. Juma Marruá (Alanis Guillen) brings a fierce, wild presence to the marshes, while Dira Paes and Murilo Benício add family and rivalry threads. Its single season of 167 episodes unfolds as one continuing melodrama, with each hour adding new twists to the feuds and romances. The tone is lush, sun-warmed and emotionally heightened, with a wild natural setting that gives every conflict elemental weight. Fans of Terra Nostra and Avenida Brasil will find resonance in its sweeping family drama and its romantic intensity.
