## Synopsis

Flikken (1999-2009) is a Flemish-Belgian police procedural series created by Pierre De Clercq and Erwin Provoost for VRT, broadcast on Eén and in the Netherlands on TROS. Set in a Ghent police department, the show follows a team of six officers led by Wilfried Pasmans (Mark Tijsmans) and Raymond Jacobs (Ludo Hellinx), the two actors who remain for all ten seasons. Ensemble members such as John Nauwelaerts (Jo De Meyere) and Nadine Vanbruane (Katelijne Verbeke) work through a steady stream of cases, from petty thefts to organised crime rings, while the squad's own relationships and private troubles keep pulling at their focus. The engine is simple and recurring: each episode brings a new investigation, and the detectives must piece together evidence through interviews, surveillance and patient legwork. Over roughly 127 episodes the team changes members while the city and its crime remain constant. The tone is grounded and sober, with an emphasis on realistic policework and a warm, human undercurrent. Fans of Law & Order, The Bill and other long-running ensemble police dramas will find much to appreciate in its steady rhythm and procedural texture.
