## Synopsis

Uncles (2022-2026) is a Belgian Flemish comedy-drama series created by Jelle De Beule, Koen de Poorter and Rik Verheye for Play and Streamz. Three middle-aged brothers, Luc Persyn (Jelle De Beule), Willy Persyn (Rik Verheye) and Pol Persyn (Wim Willaert), find their comfortable family lives disrupted when Innocent Dipanda (Blaise Afonso), a refugee from Cameroon, turns up unexpectedly on their doorstep. Their wives and households, including Carine Capon (Isabelle Van Hecke) and Delphine Verhaeghe (Emilie De Roo), are pulled into the awkward negotiations of hospitality, prejudice and everyday patience. The engine of the series is the friction of ordinary domestic life: dinner table tensions, neighbourhood gossip, and small misunderstandings that gradually reveal how each family measures kindness and belonging. Across three seasons and twenty-two episodes of about thirty-one minutes each, the show moves through episodic household situations while keeping a continuing thread about the guest's place among them. The setting is a provincial Flemish community in present-day Belgium, rendered with warm, understated naturalism. Its tone blends gentle humor with sincere emotional honesty, in the spirit of a sitcom with a social conscience. Fans of Fawlty Towers, Welcome to the Club and Everybody Hates Chris will find resonance in its mix of comedy and domestic drama.
