## Synopsis

Wild Abandon (2022) is a Turkish limited series created by Hakan Günday and Onur Saylak for Netflix. Its eight fifty-minute episodes follow Oktay Uysal (Öner Erkan), an architect caught in a midlife crisis who begins living a secret second life as a punk, and his family, including Olcay Uysal (Uğur Yücel), Nil Uysal (Songül Öden) and Yağmur (Nezaket Erden), each of whom is struggling through a crisis of their own. The engine is the tension between a respectable professional routine and the reckless freedom of a rebellious subculture, with every episode weaving the protagonist's double life into the messy private troubles of relatives who are no longer sure where they stand. Haluk Bilginer also appears as Berhudar, adding a further thread to the ensemble. Set in contemporary Istanbul, the series moves between cramped domestic interiors, workplaces and the nighttime music venues where its protagonist reinvents himself. The tone is wry and melancholic, mixing sardonic humor with an undercurrent of unease about aging, ambition and the desire to start over. Fans of Succession, Big Little Lies and Dead Man Walking will find resonance in its portrait of dysfunctional households and adults losing their footing. A self-contained, character-driven drama with strong adult content, it suits viewers who enjoy grounded, morally textured family stories with a sharp comic edge.
