## Synopsis

The Walking Dead: Dead City (2023-present) is an American cable drama spin-off of The Walking Dead, created by Eli Jorné for AMC. Lauren Cohan plays survivor Maggie Rhee and Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the ruthless Negan, two former adversaries forced into an uneasy partnership as they travel into a Manhattan long cut off from the mainland. The engine of the series is a search through a crumbling city where Maggie is driven by a personal mission, Negan by his own shifting loyalties, and both must navigate rival factions and roaming dead. Episodes are built around scavenging, negotiations, and sudden violence rather than a case-of-the-week structure, and the season arcs form a continuing serialized story across three seasons so far. Set in a near-future version of New York that has become a world of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror, the show carries a gritty, dread-laden atmosphere with flashes of strange grandeur. Its western-tinged pulp textures and bleak survival mood will appeal to viewers who enjoyed the original series, and fans of The Last of Us and The Walking Dead will find resonance in its harsh frontier tone and fragile human bonds.
