## Synopsis

The Resort (2022) is an American streaming mystery comedy created by Andy Siara for Peacock. Noah Reed (William Jackson Harper) and Emma Reed (Cristin Milioti) head to a Yucatan resort for an anniversary trip meant to repair their marriage, only to find themselves pulled into one of the region's most bizarre unsolved mysteries. Their wants are simple, to reconnect and enjoy a getaway, but the strange events around them keep forcing them to confront their own secrets and doubts about each other. Nick Offerman as Murray Thompson and Luis Gerardo Mendez as Baltasar Frias add suspicion and unpredictability to the local community, while the story moves between intercut timelines that reframe earlier scenes. Over a single season of eight episodes, the show balances dark humor with a creeping sense of unease. Its tone is breezy yet uneasy, a sunlit mystery with an undercurrent of dread and marital tension. Viewers who enjoy the puzzle-box structure of The Leftovers, the time-loop intrigue of Russian Doll, and the slow-burn paranoia of Dark will find a similar pleasure in untangling its layered mysteries.
