## Synopsis

The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022-2025) is an American teen romance drama series created by Jenny Han and Gabrielle Stanton for Prime Video, adapted from Jenny Han's young adult novel. Lola Tung plays Isabel Belly Conklin, a teenager who spends every summer at the Cousins beach house of the Fisher family, where she has grown up alongside the Fisher brothers, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno anchor the romantic tension, while Rachel Blanchard as Susannah Fisher and Sean Kaufman as Steven Conklin give the family drama its weight. The engine of the series is a girl who wants to be seen as more than the family friend she has always been, and the friendships and loyalties that stand in her way. Each season spans a summer, so the story unfolds across three seasons of seaside gatherings, late night talks, and shifting alliances. Set in a coastal American summer resort town, it is a wistful coming of age story in which every season feels like both a return home and a turning point. The tone is nostalgic and heartfelt, with melodrama and cliche often close at hand. Fans of Dawson's Creek and One Tree Hill will find resonance in its teen romance and emotional intensity.
