## Synopsis

Walking with Beasts (2001) is a British docuseries created by Tim Haines for BBC One, a six-part miniseries that follows the deep history of life on Earth through reconstructed prehistoric creatures. Kenneth Branagh narrates the journey, with Stockard Channing also credited in the cast, as digital animals are morphed from fossil and skeletal evidence into living bodies that move through ancient landscapes. Each half-hour episode takes viewers inside the bodies of monster ancestors, tracing how early mammals, birds and saber-toothed predators emerged and changed over vast spans of time, while real footage grounds the spectacle in natural history. The engine is curiosity about survival: how these creatures hunted, moved and adapted, and how their lineage eventually led to the animals we know today. The shape is a single self-contained miniseries of six standalone chapters, with a sweeping, awe-struck tone and a reverent, wondrous register. Fans of Walking with Dinosaurs, Planet Earth and Life on Earth will find resonance in its blend of cinematic wildlife photography and prehistoric reconstruction.
