## Synopsis

Poor Devil (2023) is a Spanish adult animated comedy created by Joaquín Reyes, Miguel Esteban and Ernesto Sevilla for HBO Max. The story follows Stan, a demon who has just turned 665 months old with one month left to fulfill a prophecy that would plunge humanity into horror and chaos and bring about Armageddon. Stan, voiced by Joaquín Reyes, would far rather sing and dance in a Broadway musical than carry out his infernal destiny, and that clash between cosmic duty and stage ambition drives each episode. Voiced by Ernesto Sevilla as Mefisto and Ignatius Farray as Satán, the infernal family bickers and schemes around him, while Gakian's Samael, Stéphanie Magnin's Gaby and Carlos Areces's Guy populate a chaotic world of demons and mortals. The single season runs eight short episodes of irreverent, sung and danced satire with a sardonic, absurdist edge. Fans of Good Omens, Big Mouth and BoJack Horseman will find resonance in its blend of bawdy adult humor, theological mischief and playful musical theater. The series was canceled after its first season, leaving its apocalyptic storyline unfinished.
