## Synopsis

Pantheon (2022-2025) is an American adult animated science fiction series created by Craig Silverstein and produced for AMC+, Netflix and HIDIVE. Maddie Kim (voiced by Katie Chang), a bullied teenager, receives mysterious help online from a stranger who turns out to be her recently deceased father, David Kim (voiced by Daniel Dae Kim), whose consciousness was uploaded to the cloud after an experimental destructive brain scan. Her struggle to reconcile her grief with his unsettling new existence drives the story, while David becomes the first of a new kind of being, an Uploaded Intelligence. Around them a global conspiracy gathers force, threatening to set off a new kind of world war. The series unfolds across sixteen episodes over two seasons, following the young protagonist and a growing circle of characters, including Caspian Keyes (voiced by Paul Dano) and Cary Duval (voiced by Aaron Eckhart), through a near future of networked minds and corporate power. Its tone is cerebral and melancholic, with an inspirational streak, and its themes of digital afterlife, machine personhood and what humanity is worth carry a philosophical weight. Its style recalls the speculative unease of Black Mirror and the digital identity questions of Altered Carbon. Fans of thoughtful, grounded science fiction animation will find much to chew on here, though the story ends without fully resolving its central threat.
