## Synopsis

American Justice (1992-present) is a United States true crime documentary series created by Noor Amiry for A&E. Hosted by Bill Kurtis, who appears as the on-screen narrator throughout, the show revisits groundbreaking criminal cases and lets viewers hear from the people closest to them, including law enforcement officers, prosecutors, defense attorneys, former investigators and victims' families. Each self-contained episode is built around a single case, moving from the crime through the investigation, the trial and the sentence, with the engine being how the people involved remember the pivotal moments and disagreements. The sixteen seasons and more than two hundred episodes form an anthology rather than a continuing story, so viewers can dip into any case independently. The tone is measured and sober, with a procedural focus on evidence, courtroom strategy and the human cost of murder. Its cases span decades of American history, giving the series a broad archival scope. Fans of The Staircase, Forensic Files and Making a Murderer will find resonance in its patient, first-person approach to real crimes and the justice system around them.
