## Synopsis

Blooming (2022) is a South Korean miniseries created by Tak Bon, a short romantic drama adapted from a webtoon and carried by the boys' love tradition. Cho Hyuk-jun plays Hyeong Da-woon, a college student who seems to have popularity handed to him at birth, and Kang Eun-bin plays Cha Si-won, a student who has painstakingly built his own social standing after years of childhood bullying. Moon Hye-in appears as Cha Si-yeong, and Kim Sun-hoa, Kim So-bin and Ahn Do-gyu fill out the campus circle. The engine is simple and emotionally charged: Si-won guards his carefully constructed composure, and his encounter with Da-woon threatens to undo everything he has worked to become. Across eleven brief fifteen-minute episodes, the story moves through campus encounters, friendships, and the tangled histories of divorced families, with each small exchange carrying weight. Set in contemporary South Korean university life, the series has a soft, wistful and tender register, leaning on yearning, self-consciousness and the slow thaw of trust. Viewers who enjoy Heartstopper, Love, Victor and Given will find a similar gentle, sincere queer youth romance here, told in a compact and easy-to-watch form.
