## Synopsis

Rapa (2022-2024) is a Spanish crime mystery series created by Fran Araújo and Pepe Coira for Movistar Plus. Javier Cámara plays Tomás Hernández, a high school teacher who finds the bloodied mayoress of his hometown dying on the local cliffs and quickly becomes the prime suspect while obsessively pursuing his own investigation. Mónica López plays Maite Estévez, the local police officer whose official case he keeps tangling with, and the two clash repeatedly before grudgingly joining forces. Darío Loureiro, Adrián Ríos and Melania Cruz round out the principal ensemble. Spread across three seasons of six episodes each, the series is one continuing murder investigation rather than a case of the week, with each episode peeling back another layer of local secrets, suspicions and family histories. Set in a close-knit Galician coastal town, its atmosphere is damp, unsettled and tense, with a melancholic undertow beneath the procedural hunt. Fans of Broadchurch and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its small town dread, buried resentments and a detective story where the outsider may be the most dangerous person in the room.
