## Synopsis

Acorralada (2007) is a Venezuelan-American telenovela produced by Venevisión and aired on Univision, created by Alberto Gómez, Dulce Terán and Arquímedes Rivero. Across a single season of about 187 episodes, the series follows a web of romance and family rivalry among characters including Silvita Delgado (Mariana Huerdo), Pancholón (Julián Gil) and Diana Soriano (Alejandra Lazcano), with David Zepeda as Maximiliano Irázabal and Maritza Rodríguez as Débora Mondragón de Davila among the principal players. The engine of the story is the push and pull of love, jealousy and family loyalty, with each episode building tangled confrontations, secret alliances and emotional reversals that keep the central couples pulled apart and drawn together. Filmed in Miami, Florida, the program fits the classic telenovela mold, a serialized melodrama with heightened emotion, lush romantic stakes and a daytime rhythm designed for a loyal weekday audience. Its tone is melodramatic and sentimental, with moments of comedy and intrigue braided through the romance. Fans of Betty la fea, Rosalinda and Dark Shadows will find resonance in its soap opera appetite for romance, secrets and family drama.
