## Synopsis

Engage Kiss (2022) is a Japanese animated action romance series produced by A-1 Pictures and Aniplex for TOKYO MX and other Japanese broadcasters. Set in Bayron City, a stateless mega-float city in the Pacific that serves as a mining hub for the energy resource Orgonium, the story follows Shu Ogata (voiced by Soma Saito), a young man who runs a tiny private military company that handles demonic D Hazards. Shu cherry-picks his jobs and is always short of money, so his public and private life is quietly propped up by Kisara (voiced by Saya Aizawa), a beautiful high school girl who attends school in the city. Other principal voices include Sharon Holygrail (Rumi Okubo) and Ayano Yugiri (Lynn). The engine of each episode is the cash-strapped mercenary's jobs against demons, mixed with the awkward domestic dependence between the pair. The single season runs thirteen episodes of roughly twenty-four minutes each, forming one continuing story. The tone blends playful fan-service comedy with action and romantic tension, a light and brash register. Fans of Triage X, Demon Slayer and Rosario + Vampire will find resonance in its supernatural action and romantic-comedy energy.
