## Synopsis

Trolley (2022-2023) is a South Korean television miniseries created for SBS, a sixteen-episode limited series with a serialized mystery engine. Kim Hyun-joo plays Kim Hye-ju, the wife of an assemblyman, whose life is upended when a sudden tragedy drags her out of her private world. Park Hee-soon appears as Nam Joong-do, and Kim Moo-yul plays Jang Woo-jae in the political circle that surrounds the family. As the story unfolds, Hye-ju must confront family secrets and a troubling past she has kept buried, while the pressures of a political household threaten to expose everything. The series is built around a suspenseful investigation of concealed truths, with each episode peeling back another layer of the marriage and the people around it. Its tone is tense and brooding, carried by domestic unease and the constant fear of public exposure. Themes of guilt, reputation, and moral compromise run through the material, and the trolley dilemma of the title serves as a recurring metaphor for impossible choices. Fans of Designated Survivor, The Good Wife and Ms. Sherlock will find resonance in its blend of political scandal, moral tension and buried secrets. The miniseries is set in contemporary South Korea, a present-day political landscape of backroom dealings and family pressure.
