## Synopsis

Ferry: The Series (2023) is a Belgian-Dutch crime drama series created by Piet Matthys, Bart Uytdenhouwen and Nico Moolenaar for Netflix. Frank Lammers plays Ferry Bouman, a man desperate for money who stumbles into a golden opportunity when a high-profile bust leaves a vacant position among the top dealers of Brabant. The engine of the series is his precarious balancing act inside a criminal underworld where loyalty is fragile and every deal carries risk, with Elise Schaap as Danielle van Marken and Raymond Thiry as John Zwart among the principal figures around him. Told across a single eight-episode season of roughly forty-six minutes each, it moves as one continuing story rather than a case of the week. The tone is tense, gritty and grounded, with a bleak undercurrent of desperation and compromised ambition. Set in the modern Dutch-speaking south of the Low Countries, it has the gritty texture of a Dutch-language crime saga. Fans of Penoza, Gomorrah and Breaking Bad will find resonance in its portrait of ordinary people pulled into the drug trade.
