## Synopsis

Doctor Lawyer (2022) is a South Korean legal and medical drama series created for MBC, a single-season limited series of sixteen one-hour episodes. Brilliant surgeon Han Yi-han (So Ji-sub) loses a patient to surgical malpractice and reinvents himself as a lawyer focused on medical crimes, while Jaden Lee (Shin Sung-rok) and prosecutor Keum Suk-young (Im Soo-hyang) figure among the principal characters pulling him through the case files. Each episode is built around a new malpractice dispute, hospital cover-ups, and courtroom strategy, with the engine being a man trying to set right a wrong that medicine and law both conspired to bury. The storytelling moves between operating theatres and legal chambers, so the courtroom feels like an operating room where a life may end or be given a fresh start. The tone is cathartic and suspenseful, with emotional hospital scenes balanced against tense trial confrontations and institutional corruption. Viewers who enjoy Good Doctor, Suits, and Helix will find resonance in its blend of medical stakes, legal sparring, and redemptive professional drama, set in contemporary South Korea.
