## Synopsis

Summer Strike (2022) is a South Korean drama miniseries created by Lee Yoon-jung for ENA, adapted from a webtoon. After a breakup and the sudden loss of her mother in an accident, Lee Yeo-reum (Kim Seol-hyun) abandons city life and moves to a small village with the stated plan of doing nothing at all. Her plans for stillness are gently complicated by the people around her, including Ahn Dae-beom (Yim Si-wan), whose presence stirs both friction and attraction, and Kim Bom (Shin Eun-soo), whose own life has its quiet tensions. The engine of the show is the slow test of whether withdrawal can heal, measured in small daily routines, shared meals, and the awkward work of letting other people in. Across twelve episodes of roughly fifty minutes, the story unfolds as one continuous arc rather than a case-of-the-week format. The setting is a contemporary rural Korean village, rendered with unhurried natural light and warm domestic detail. The tone is wistful, gentle and melancholic, with moments of humor and a hopeful undercurrent. Fans of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and Our Blues will find resonance in its blend of small town warmth and emotional recovery.
