## Synopsis

The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin (2024-2025) is a British comedy adventure series created by Claire Downes, Ian Jarvis and Stuart Lane for Apple TV. Noel Fielding plays legendary highwayman Dick Turpin, who reluctantly finds himself leading a band of outlaws, with Marc Wootton as his companion Moose, Ellie White as Nell, and Mark Heap as John Turpin. Their engine is a run of wildly absurd escapades, each episode a fresh caper in which the ragged gang tries to outwit the utterly corrupt lawman Jonathan Wilde. The single season runs seven episodes of roughly half an hour each, a self-contained romp rather than a sprawling saga. Set in a loosely imagined eighteenth century England, it plays as a zany, irreverent parody of the highwayman legend, closer to a surreal sketch sensibility than to gritty costume drama. Its mood is breezy and silly, with a lighthearted, comforting register. Fans of Blackadder, Horrible Histories and The Mighty Boosh will find a similar appetite for anarchic British humour dressed in period costume.
