## Synopsis

Pett Kata Shaw (2022-present) is a Bangladeshi anthology horror series created by Nuhash Humayun for Chorki. Drawing on the darkest and most nefarious Bengali folk tales that have survived generations, it gives each story a modern twist, so village legends of ghosts, witches and malevolent spirits resurface in present-day settings. Afzal Hossain appears as Iblis, the tempter, across several episodes, while Shohel Mondol plays Hasan and Shrin Akhter Shela plays the titular Witch, with Pritom Hasan, Masuda Khan and Rizvi Rizu Chowdhury among the cast in standalone chapters. Across two seasons of eight short episodes, each roughly twenty-seven minutes long, the format is self-contained stories rather than one continuing arc. The engine is a human character running afoul of an old supernatural bargain or curse, and the dread builds through folk superstition, uncanny rural spaces and the slow reveal of what the old tales warned about. The tone is eerie and unsettling, with a mood of cultural memory and inherited fear. Viewers who enjoy Black Mirror's sharp anthology format or the spooky folklore of Tales from the Crypt will find resonance here, along with the South Asian ghost-story tradition that treats the supernatural as a living part of everyday life.
