## Synopsis

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer (2024) is a Japanese anime series produced by CONNECT and OVERLAP and aired on AT-X, adapted from a light novel and manga. Rentt Faina (voice of Ryota Suzuki) has spent a decade hunting slimes and goblins for a few coins a day, a dull and humbling livelihood in a fantasy world. His luck shifts when he discovers an unmapped path, only to be killed by a legendary dragon and wake as an undead bag of bones. The engine of the series is his determined pursuit of Existential Evolution, a way back to the land of the living, with supporting characters such as Sheila Ibarss (voice of Ikumi Hasegawa) and Lorrane Vivie (voice of Mikako Komatsu) shaping his path. Each episode mixes monster-hunting set pieces with dry, self-aware comedy and a quiet undercurrent of longing. The single twelve-episode season is a serialized adventure in which progression builds steadily. Its tone is darkly comic and whimsical, with a grim premise handled lightly. Fans of Overlord, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Delicious in Dungeon will find the same mix of fantasy isekai, monster hunting, and a protagonist's stubborn self-improvement.
