## Synopsis

Barbie: It Takes Two (2022) is a Netflix family animation musical created by Marsha Griffin and produced with Mattel. Barbie Malibu Roberts (America Young) and her sister Barbie Brooklyn Roberts (Tatiana Varria) chase their dreams of musical stardom, with the sisters' contrasting personalities driving the comedy as they pursue performances, recording opportunities and the glamour of the music industry. The series is built from short, colorful episodes in which each story pushes the sisters toward a new stage, a new song or a new obstacle in their career, and the bright 3D animation gives every setting a candy-toned polish. Its tone is upbeat, warm and playful, emphasizing friendship, ambition and the pleasure of pop music over any darker stakes. Mattel's doll universe frames the adventures, and the show ran two seasons of thirteen episodes each. Fans of Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, K.C. Undercover and Julie and the Phantoms will find similar resonance in its mix of music, sisterhood and cheerful family comedy, making it an easy pick for young viewers who love pop songs and dreams.
