## Synopsis

The Turkish Detective (2023-2024) is a Turkish crime drama created for TV+ and set in modern-day Istanbul. Veteran inspector Çetin İkmen (Haluk Bilginer) leads a small detective team alongside his partner Mehmet Süleyman (Ethan Kai) and detective Ayşe Farsakoğlu (Yasemin Kay Allen), and the engine of the show is the steady rhythm of their investigations. Each episode centers on a crime that feels rooted in the layered history and everyday culture of the city, so the detectives must read neighborhoods, people and old traditions as closely as they read forensic clues. The show moves through the bustling, dazzling and frenzied texture of contemporary Turkey, with crowded streets and intimate interiors giving each case a vivid sense of place. Its tone swings between exhilarating highs and tragic lows, so the team's victories carry real emotional cost. Fans of Inspector Montalbano, Wallander and The Killing will find resonance in its grounded procedural pace, its strong sense of place and its serious, humane attention to the people caught up in each crime. The series runs as a single season of eight episodes, with a case-driven structure and a continuing bond among its leads.
