Reviewers generally regard the series as a competent, lightweight Saturday morning adaptation of the games, with energetic action and a likable hero but thin storytelling.

## Synopsis

Mega Man (1994-1995) is an American syndicated animated action series produced by Ruby-Spears Productions and Capcom, adapted from the classic Capcom video game franchise. Mega Man, a robot built by the kindly scientist Dr. Light, has the unusual ability to absorb the powers of other robots. Ian James Corlett voices Mega Man and his loyal robotic dog Rush, while Scott McNeil plays the scheming Dr. Wily, who has stolen Light's original robots and plans and is building a new army bent on world domination. The engine of the show is simple and brisk: each episode pits the hero against a robot villain, and Mega Man's growing arsenal of stolen powers becomes his weapon in a fight for lasting peace. Across two seasons of twenty-seven episodes, the series follows a continuing battle between good and evil in a bright, bouncy world of futuristic cities and laboratories. Its tone is earnest, playful and upbeat, with a classic Saturday morning energy. Fans of Captain N: The Game Master and Transformers: Generation 1 will find resonance here.
