## Synopsis

KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World (2023) is a Japanese animated isekai comedy series produced by Studio Palette and aired on TOKYO MX. Yukito, the son of a questionable cult leader, dies from his father's ridiculous training practices and wakes in a fantasy world where the concept of God and religion does not exist. Voice cast includes Junya Enoki as Masato Urabe, Akari Kito as Mitama, Kana Hanazawa as Aruaru, Sumire Uesaka as Shiruriru, and Megumi Ogata as Kuren and Loki. The engine of the show is simple: the protagonist sets out to build a religion in a world that has none, and each episode puts his improvised faith against the practical needs of a new community. The single season of twelve twenty-four-minute episodes plays as a light, episodic slice of life with fantasy adventure beats. The tone is irreverent and playful, with satire of cult rituals and the absurdity of organized belief. Its shape is a standalone season with a loose ending. Fans of Konosuba, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Re:Zero will find resonance in its reincarnation premise, comic fantasy world and anime sensibility.
