## Synopsis

Modern Love Chennai (2023) is an Indian anthology miniseries created by Thiagarajan Kumararaja for Prime Video. Its six episodes of roughly 45 minutes each form a collection of separate love stories, each with its own cast, including Sri Gouri Priya Reddy as Shoba, Vasudevan Murali as Nathuram, Vasundhara Kashyap as Vaijayanthi and Prasanna Ramkumar as Samiyaar. Rather than one continuing plot, every episode follows a different couple or a single heart navigating attraction, awkward encounters, family expectations and the messy uncertainty of modern dating. The engine of each story is a personal wish colliding with everyday obstacles, from relatives and work to chance meetings in busy streets. Set in contemporary Chennai, the series uses the city's distinct terrains and diverse neighborhoods as an active backdrop, so the stories feel rooted in a particular place. Its tone is quirky and warm, shifting between comedy and quieter emotional depth, and it is puzzling in places in the way real relationships are. Viewers who enjoy the romantic anthology format of Modern Love and the light romcom sensibility of Ashwin Ka Romantic Story will find resonance here. It suits a relaxed, affectionate evening of watching one story at a time.
