## Synopsis

Dhootha (2023) is a Telugu-language Indian crime thriller series created by Vikram Kumar and released on Prime Video. Journalist Sagar, played by Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, finds his working life upended when he begins unravelling the dark secrets hidden behind newspaper clippings that seem to predict tragedies. As the investigation pulls him deeper, he becomes the prime murder suspect and must race against the clock to clear his name while solving the enigma at the center of the stories. The engine of the series is a reporter's instinct pitted against a web of threats, with each episode turning up another clue, another dangerous twist and another person who may be hiding something. Told as a continuous serialized mystery rather than a case-of-the-week format, its tone is suspenseful and propulsive, built on paranoia and mounting pressure in a contemporary Indian city. Fans of Spotlight, The Killing and Mindhunter will find resonance in its investigative grit, its press-versus-power storytelling and its slow-building dread.
