## Synopsis

Dahaad is a single-season Indian crime thriller set in Rajasthan, created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti for Prime Video. Sonakshi Sinha plays police officer Anjali Bhaati, a determined investigator who notices that a run of women vanishing without a trace share a strange detail: long nightly phone calls with a boyfriend no one in the neighbourhood has ever seen. Vijay Varma and Gulshan Devaiah appear among the principal cast as the men whose lives tangle with the case. The engine of the series is a cat and mouse chase in which Anjali must push past local indifference, family loyalties and a police force that treats the disappearances as routine. Each episode peels back another layer of dowry pressure, caste prejudice and domestic secrecy. Across eight episodes of roughly 54 minutes, the story unfolds as one continuing investigation with a slow burn pace rather than a case of the week. The tone is tense, sombre and socially pointed, with a claustrophobic small town atmosphere. Fans of The Killing, Broadchurch and Sacred Games will find resonance in its grounded procedure and its focus on a woman tracking a killer through a resistant community.
