## Synopsis

ONI: Thunder God's Tale (2022) is an American animated fantasy miniseries created by Daisuke 'Dice' Tsutsumi and released on Netflix, produced by Tonko House. Across its four episodes of roughly 46 minutes each, a courageous young girl named Onari, voiced by Momona Tamada, strives to follow in the footsteps of her mysterious father and find her own true powers. Her journey unfolds in a mystical version of Japan populated by gods, spirits and youkai, where village life and folklore creatures share the same landscape. Supporting voices include Craig Robinson as Naridon, Archie Yates as Kappa, Brittany Ishibashi as Amaten and George Takei as Mr. Tengu, giving the adventure a playful ensemble energy. Each episode builds the central quest while leaning on colorful, bold three-dimensional animation that gives the mythic creatures a vivid, toy-like physicality. The tone stays gentle, adventurous and hopeful, with light humor and an emphasis on courage and family. Fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Dragon Prince and Yasha will find resonance in its blend of youthful heroism, spirit-filled folklore and accessible fantasy for all ages.
