## Synopsis

One Dollar Lawyer (2022) is a South Korean legal drama series created by Kim Jae-hyun for SBS, a single-season run of twelve roughly hour-long episodes. Namkoong Min plays Chun Ji-hoon, an extraordinary defense lawyer whose commission fee is just one dollar, and Kim Ji-eun plays Baek Ma-ri, a figure drawn into his orbit as he confronts blindfolded justice and highly paid opposing counsel. Park Jin-woo and Lee Chung-ah round out the principal cast. The engine of the series is simple and stubborn: a lawyer who wants ordinary people to reach a courtroom they can afford, and the powerful firms and institutions that make that difficult. Episodes mix courtroom confrontations with lighter, slacker comedy and longer backstory passages, so the rhythm shifts between sharp trial sequences and quieter reflection. The tone blends earnest idealism with wry humor and a sense of injustice. Fans of Suits and Better Call Saul will find resonance in the principled underdog lawyer and the moral weight of each case, while viewers of Korean courtroom dramas will recognize the familiar pleasure of a crusading defender taking on the establishment.
