## Synopsis

Blockbuster (2022) is an American streaming sitcom created by Vanessa Ramos for Netflix. Randall Park plays Timmy Yoon, the manager of the last surviving Blockbuster video store, while Melissa Fumero plays Eliza Walker and Olga Merediz plays Connie Serrano, a cast of coworkers whose days revolve around keeping their quirky rental shop afloat against changing times and shrinking customer traffic. Each brisk 26-minute episode builds its comedy from everyday workplace friction, small schemes to draw in customers, and the ridiculous characters who wander through the aisles of a store that refuses to disappear. Tyler Alvarez and Madeleine Arthur round out the younger staff, adding romantic tangles and friendly rivalries to the mix. The series is a single season of ten episodes, a light and cheerful workplace ensemble with a warm, nostalgic glow for anyone who remembers renting movies on a Friday night. Its tone is breezy and affectionate, and its humor leans on the absurd details of a retail job. Fans of Superstore, Parks and Recreation and The Good Place will find a similar mix of underdog optimism and ensemble chemistry. Its ending is left open after cancellation.
