## Synopsis

Walker Independence (2022-2023) is an American western drama series created for The CW, a single-season prequel that runs thirteen fifty-minute episodes. Katherine McNamara plays Abby Walker, an affluent Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes on the journey out West, and Matt Barr plays Hoyt Rawlins, a lovable rogue searching for purpose who crosses her path. Their partnership drives the engine of the show: Abby wants justice and a foothold in a lawless land, while the frontier keeps testing her with hostile men, shifting alliances and the rules of survival. Each episode is built from road-and-town encounters in Independence, Texas, a small settlement with a big future, where ambition and danger share the same dusty streets. The series is set in the late 1800s American frontier and carries a rugged, sweeping western atmosphere with moments of grit and warmth. Its tone mixes adventure with sincere character drama and a streak of playful banter between its leads. Fans of Yellowstone, Hell on Wheels and Deadwood will find resonance in its frontier grit, revenge-driven plotting and rogue-hero charm. Cancelled after one season, it is a short, self-contained entry for western viewers who want a fresh start on the frontier.
